The 1,410-acre campus includes a 327-acre main campus which features 46 major buildings linked by tree-lined sidewalks. Because of the beauty of its 4,000 trees of 85 different species, the campus has been officially designated an arboretum. The Fresno State campus has many new buildings, including the new music and education facilities, Leon S. Peters Business Building and the adjoining University Business Center, a $12.4 million complex completed in 1988; the Henry Madden Library, which is considered one of the best in the CSU system; and the central University Student Union, which offers modern student lounges, conference rooms, coffee shops and bowling lanes.
